1. Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, Etheria Counseling is actively accepting new clients. We pride ourselves on maintaining short wait times, so you can access the mental health services you need without unnecessary delays.

2. Do I need a doctor’s referral to schedule an appointment?

No, a physician’s referral is not required. You are welcome to contact us and schedule an intake appointment directly.

3. How do I schedule an initial session or consultation?

Scheduling is simple. You can register online through our secure portal at etheriacounseling.com or reach out directly to our intake specialist at 843-868-6200.

4. What are your office hours, and do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

Our standard office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We also offer select Saturday appointments to accommodate busy work and family schedules.

Our office is conveniently located in Myrtle Beach at 1551 21st Avenue North, Suite 17, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

6. How does telehealth work, and who in South Carolina is eligible?

Telehealth counseling allows you to receive high-quality therapy from the comfort and privacy of your home. Any individual physically located within the state of South Carolina is eligible for virtual sessions, which are conducted through our secure, HIPAA-compliant online portal.

7. What technology or device do I need for a telehealth session?

You only need a reliable internet connection and a device equipped with a camera and microphone—such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.

8. What age groups do you treat?

We support individuals across all stages of life, serving clients ages 6 and up, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.

9. What therapeutic approaches or modalities do your counselors use?

Our clinicians utilize evidence-based, compassionate care tailored to your unique needs. Our approaches include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT), Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), the Gottman Method for couples, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

10. Do you offer medication management or prescribe psychiatric medications?

While we do not provide in-house medication management or psychiatric prescriptions, we maintain close relationships with trusted local medical providers and prescribers and are happy to facilitate a referral whenever appropriate.

11. Do you offer faith-based or Christian counseling upon request?

Yes. For clients seeking to integrate their faith into their healing journey, faith-based and Christian counseling perspectives are available upon request.

12. How long does a standard therapy session last?

Standard therapy sessions are comprehensive and typically run approximately 55 to 60 minutes.

13. How do you handle copays, deductibles, or self-pay billing?

We prioritize financial transparency. Prior to your initial session, we verify your insurance coverage and inform you of any expected copays or deductibles upfront, so there are no surprises. For your convenience, we accept debit cards, credit cards, cash, and checks.

Etheria Counseling accepts insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Humana, United Healthcare (UHC), Molina, Cigna, Aetna, All One, PAI, MultiPlan, Medicare, Medicaid, Health Blue, Healthy Connections, Select Health, Medicare, and Medicaid plans.

14. What is your cancellation or missed appointment policy?

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice incur a $35 fee.
