About Bonnie Priest
I have spent the past 38 years working in the mental health field, with much of my professional experience centered on children and families. I spent a significant part of my career as a school social worker, primarily working with younger elementary-aged children and their families, helping children navigate emotional, behavioral, social, and family concerns while working closely with parents, teachers, and other school professionals.
I have also worked in child protective services, which gave me valuable experience helping children and families through complex circumstances and significant life challenges. Today, my practice focuses primarily on children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I also have experience supporting women through the prenatal, pregnancy, and postpartum periods.

I believe therapy should be individualized to the person sitting in front of me. Depending on a client's age, needs, strengths, relationships, and goals, I may draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family systems approaches, and developmentally appropriate play-based techniques.
Most importantly, I want my clients to feel comfortable, accepted, and able to be themselves. Therapy sometimes means talking about difficult and deeply personal things, but I don't believe every difficult conversation has to feel heavy. When appropriate, I use warmth and humor to make those conversations a little easier.
My goal is to build a genuine connection with each client while helping them develop practical skills, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful change.
